Engagement Day 1

Hello Readers!

So this is going to be a short but sweet little update, due to the fact that it is after 1 am and I am exhausted! The date has been chosen!!! December 9th, 2016...17 months from now. I know that seems like a long time, but December of this year is WAY too close and I want to finish school before I think about getting married. Also, same with our colors and theme. Colors will be Navy/Dark blue and Silver, since it is going to be a winter wedding. Why not go as glamorous as possible? and finally, the theme, Winter Wonderland...bahaha just kidding...we don't have a theme as of right yet. Next weekend, my Dad is going to be taking our engagement photos!!! Just so that I can start the process. No save the dates being sent yet, not until November.

Thank you for reading! It is time for bed.

With love,
Kaitlyn <3

Introduction!

Hello Everyone!

Let me first tell you, thank you for taking the time out of your day to read and follow a long in this long journey ahead.

So, I am Kaitlyn.

and this is my fiancé Russell. I am 23 years old, working at a daycare and pursuing a degree in Psychology. Russell is 27 years old and is working as director of IT at an awesome company.
We have been dating for almost 6 years. Our anniversary is actually August 27th, 2009. So, basically 6 years. We moved in together last November and have been living the young 20 year old lives.

On July 17th, 2015, we decided to go out for dinner. We drove and drove until finally we stumbled upon a place that was open at 9pm. We eat dinner, have a couple drinks. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a fortune he saved from his lunch at work. It said "Star light, Star bright, your dream will come true tonight." I thought it was an adorable gesture to save it for me. He then asks me the question I have been wanting to hear since I was 5 years old and playing wedding with my barbies. He takes out this gorgeous ring.

Of course I said "yes." And this is where this blog begins. I am writing this to inform, help and of course look back on years to come and smile, laugh or frown at the process of a wedding. I've been on Pinterest looking for ideas, dresses, decorations and so on, but now that this is real...I am overwhelmed with both excitement and anxiety. So much to do and so little time. Russell and I are meant to be (I know that sounds super cheesy).

Here we go! Time to set a date, colors, and theme. GAH!

Thanks for reading!

With love,
